Short version: We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. The score calculator runs entirely in your browser. We have no idea what scores you entered.

AP Lang Calculator (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website aplangcalculator.com. We provide a free AP English Language & Composition score prediction tool, along with study guides, essay tips, and other educational resources for AP exam students.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

2. Information we do NOT collect

Our score calculator is a client-side tool. The following data is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Your MCQ scores, essay scores, or predicted AP scores
  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • Your location beyond the country level (used by Google Analytics, see below)

We do not require you to create an account or log in to use any feature of this website.

3. Information we do collect

We collect limited, non-personal information to understand how our site is used and to improve it:

  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • General geographic region (country or state level only)
  • Browser type, device type, and screen size
  • Referring website (e.g., which link brought you here)
  • Search queries that led to our site (via Google Search Console)

This data is aggregated and anonymous. It cannot be used to identify you personally.

4. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): Help us understand site traffic and usage patterns. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Functional cookies: Small files that remember your preferences (e.g., calculator year selection) within your current browser session. These contain no personal data.

7. Children’s privacy

Our site is intended for high school students, many of whom may be under 18. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Opt out of analytics tracking
  • Withdraw consent at any time

9. Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics, after which it is automatically deleted. Blog comment data is retained until you request deletion. We do not retain any calculator input data — because we never receive it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
