WHAT MAKES YOUR CALCULATOR DIFFERENT?
Honestly? We’re not trying to sell you anything. Most score calculators hide behind paywalls or spam you with ads. Ours is genuinely free forever. We built it because we wished it existed when we were studying for AP Lang—that’s it.
HOW ACCURATE ARE THESE PREDICTIONS?
Pretty damn accurate, actually. We’ve compared our predictions against thousands of real AP scores, and we usually land within one point. Sometimes we nail it exactly. The 5-10% of cases where we’re off typically involve essays scored very differently than students expected.
WHICH YEAR CURVE SHOULD I PICK?
If you know which year you took the exam, use that curve. If you’re just practicing or don’t remember, “Average” works fine. Each year’s curve compensates for that specific test’s difficulty level.
CAN I TRUST THIS IF I’M BORDERLINE?
If you’re sitting at 64 composite points (right on the 3/4 border), understand that you could go either way. Our calculator gives you the most likely outcome based on historical data, but borderline cases are always uncertain until official scores arrive.
WHY DON’T YOU ASK FOR MY EMAIL?
Because we don’t need it. You came here for a score prediction, not a marketing relationship. Use the calculator, get your answer, move on with your life. That’s how it should work.
DO COLLEGES ACCEPT AP LANG CREDIT?
Most do—for scores of 3 or higher. But requirements vary wildly. Some want a 4 minimum, others accept 3s. Check your target school’s AP credit policy specifically. Don’t assume.
WHAT IF MY PREDICTED SCORE SUCKS?
First, breathe. If you’re using this before the exam, you’ve got time to improve. Focus on your weakest area—if MCQ is dragging you down, practice more passages. If essays need work, study the rubrics and get feedback. If you already took the exam, remember: our calculator isn’t perfect, and sometimes students surprise themselves on test day.
CAN TEACHERS USE THIS IN CLASS?
Absolutely. We’ve had AP Lang teachers use our calculator to help students set realistic goals and track progress throughout the year. Feel free to share it with your class—we love helping students and teachers alike.
ARE YOU AFFILIATED WITH COLLEGE BOARD?
Nope. We’re completely independent. We use publicly available scoring information from College Board’s official documentation, but they don’t endorse us and we don’t speak for them.
WHAT IF I FIND A BUG?
Tell us immediately through our contact page. We test extensively, but mistakes happen. If something’s broken, we want to know so we can fix it.
