A free, student-built tool that predicts your AP English Language & Composition score — honestly, without the marketing fluff.
Why we built this
We were AP Lang students once. We know the anxiety of finishing a practice test and having no idea where your score actually stands. Teachers give rough estimates. Online resources give vague ranges. We wanted something concrete.
So we studied College Board’s official scoring guidelines, analyzed score distributions across multiple exam years, and built a calculator that gives honest, data-backed predictions — for free, for everyone.
How the calculator works
Our tool uses the same conversion tables College Board applies to real AP exams. You enter your multiple-choice score (out of 45) and your essay scores (0–6 each), and we apply year-specific scoring curves from 2022 through 2024 to predict your final 1–5 score.
We also show your composite score breakdown and how each section contributed — so you know exactly where to focus your preparation.
We believe useful tools should be accessible to everyone — rich kid, scholarship student, or homeschooler. If you’re taking AP Lang, you deserve an honest prediction without paying a cent or handing over your email address.
